In November of 1971, a man called D.B. Cooper skyjacked an airplane and disappeared with $200,000 in ransom money. That same year, Calvin Jenkins was born.

When his parents divorced a few years later, young Calvin’s cousin Jenna stepped in and took care of him. But now Jenna is lost.

 

At least that’s what Calvin has been told.

It’s 1985 now, fourteen years since the Cooper skyjacking, and Calvin arrives in Hazard, Mississippi for his yearly weeklong visit with his grandparents. There, he and his friends stumble onto a mystery. A man bearing a striking resemblance to D.B. Cooper has moved into the neighborhood. Is it really him? The friends launch a dangerous investigation that takes them into a haunted house, through snake-infested waters, and into an abandoned warehouse.

Calvin’s search takes an ominous turn when he discovers clues that directly link the mystery man to his missing cousin. Before Calvin goes home, he has to know: did D.B. Cooper kidnap Jenna? Will Calvin ever see his cousin again?
